Birds
After Colombia and Peru, Brazil is on the third position with the most number of distinct bird species, having 1622 identified species, from this number about 70 are just parrots! Brazil has one of the richest bird diversities in the world, only here you can watch more than 1700 species of birds and exotic birds. There is a wide variety of birds including toucans, parrots, flamingos, trogons, ducks, vultures, hawks, eagles, owls, swans, hummingbirds and even penguins! Beautiful birds with colorfull feathers and some of them you can find only here in Brazil. About 57% bird species recorded for all of South America. The largest bird found in Brazil is the rhea, similar to emu and also can not fly.

Sea Life
Lots of cool crabs to be found in Pipa. This little (and sometimes quite big creatures) are really amazing, they are related to lobsters and shrimps but they can borrow, swim, run and walk sideways! There are many kinds of crabs and hermit crabs in Brazil. Here in Pipa and state Rio Grande do Norte you can find all sorts of colours and sizes of crabs. When the tide is low and you know where to look, you can see red octupus and in teh river you can also fish for the biggest shrimp you have ever seen called pitu, you can find it between Sibauma and Barra do Cunhau, near Pipa. Did you know that the most famous fish in Brazil is piranha? But it's not everything, in sweet waters of Brazil live over 3,000 identified species of fish and over 500 species of amphibians.

Insects

Nobody really likes mosquitoes and other kind of insects, however if you are travelling to Brazil is good to know what you can see there. Insects have a three-part body, 3 pairs of jointed legs, compound eyes, and two antennae. Insects can walk, fly and sometimes swim. It is calculated that Brazil has more insects than any country in the world (70,000 species of insects) and there are still new ones discover every day. Dolphins
These full of joy marine mammals are related to whales and porpoises. All together there are almost forty species of dolphins! Here in Pipa you can swim with them in the sea. We took a boat trip on the lagoon at Tibau do Sul and some of the dolphins swam with us by the side of the boat which was absolutely amazing. In Brazil you can also meet pink dolphin which is the largest river dolphin in the world. Dolphins are the most intelligent animals and their friendly appearance and playful attitude have made them very popular.

Plants
Brazil is famous for exotic plants and flowers, some of them you have never seen! Brazil has most known species of plants which is about 55,000 from all the countries in the world. Pretty impresive! From this number about 30% of plants are endemic to Brazil. One of the plant you can find here is sugar cane, there whole plantations of this plant. In Pipa you can find all sorts of beautiful plants and flowers basically on each corner.
Trees
It's amazing how many things from the tree you can eat! But yo have to be carefull as not every single fruit is good for you. Fruits
Fruits are healthy and delicious and in Pipa in Brazil you can find the many of the one you buy in european supermarket. Difference is that here they taste much better, especially if you pick them from the tree! There are whole plantations of bananas and mangoes...If you are visiting Pipa you have to try cashew nut fruit, it's really delicious! Also mangaba is another fruit you can find here in Pipa Brazil that taste very good and has a lot of vitamins.

Animals
Many animals are very rear here, some of them you can see only at night and only if you are lucky. You can meet dogs, cats, foxes, timbu and in some part of Brazil even puma or jaguar! But here in Pipa you are safe, as long as you are not scared of little monkeys. There are around 75 primate species, including the howler monkey, the capuchin monkey, the squirrel monkey, the marmoset, and the tamarin.
